Mrs. Lynn Hess Mrs. Hess Mrs. Lynn Hess's volunteer experience and passion for teaching were the driving forces behind her present role as a kindergarten teacher. As a community volunteer, she has actively participated in her sons' and daughter's activities as they grew up. She has volunteered as a Cub Scout Leader, a 4-H Leader, a Sunday School teacher and Bible School coordinator, as well as a parent volunteer within the public school system.

She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master of Science Degree in Educational Technology from Towson University. Mrs. Hess completed a prekindergarten and first grade student teaching placement at Hebbville Elementary School in Randallstown, Maryland, and a kindergarten student teaching placement at Abingdon Elementary School in Abingdon, Maryland. Her student-teaching Books placements and volunteer experiences were valuable resources in formulating her personal kindergarten classroom philosophy.

Lynn has been married to Patrick Hess, a lifelong Harford County resident, for 26 years. They have two sons and a daughter; one graduate student and two undergraduate students. Their sons are studying business and their daughter is studying English. All three children began their public education at Jarrettsville Elementary School, where Lynn and Pat were once active volunteers and business partners.

Mrs. Hess has many interests outside the teaching profession. She enjoys Salsa! reading, walking, swimming, Wii Fitness, and gardening, to name a few. In August, Lynn and Pat host Salsa Fiesta, during which they preserve an annual batch of salsa using homegrown tomatoes and several varieties of peppers from their summer vegetable garden. They also enjoy an evening out to dinner and the movie theater, as well as spending quality time with family and friends.
